# Archive Policy & include_archived

* **`archive` keeps the chunks**: with `deletion_policy: archive`, a removed object's document stays in the collection marked archived and is excluded from search by default; pass `include_archived: true` on v2 or v3 Query to surface it. Archiving is one-way: re-uploading the same key indexes a fresh document. See [Set Up Sync](/guides/sync/set-up).
