# Email Ingestion

* **Email files (`.msg`, `.eml`)**: an email is indexed as a text document for the message and one document per attachment, each parsed as its own type. `email_attachment` and `email_reply_to` relations link the parts and the thread in both directions, and every part carries `email_*` metadata for filtering by thread, sender, subject, or date.
